Aisha Edwards

is an initiated Kontomblé diviner and traditional healer through Elder Malidoma Patrice Somé’s Indigenous Spirit Technologies, an initiatory series rooted in Dagara cosmology and practices. The Dagara are a West African indigenous people whose traditional homelands include territories of Burkina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana.

The Kontomblé

Translates to “who answers to the bell”. They are a group of immaterial beings, often described as little people, who are playful, mercurial, loving, silly and profoundly powerful. They are an ally to humans in their role as manifestors for the divine in the material world.

In Kontomble divination,

the initiate acts as a channel for the Kontomble, ancestors and plant/medicine spirits to speak through. Often, these immaterial beings provide prescriptions to address the spiritual concerns impacting psychological, emotional, social and behavioral problems the seeker is attempting to address Traditional healing utilizes seemingly simple tools and methods. The actions performed on or around the body are symbolic actions crossing the divide between worlds to address the harm on the immaterial side. In this way, the actions and the practitioner are neither simple nor reflective of the interdimensional methodology of healing. Elder Malidoma’s intentions.

At the guidance of the tribe’s elders and Elder Malidoma’s own predetermined destiny, he carried these practices to the colonized west to bring the wisdom of the original instructions for right relationship with the earth and other than human, for healing from colonized ways and to awaken the indigiosity in each person.

First Earth Traditional Healing Services

Initial intake and divination

Exploration of presenting concerns and kontomblé divination. May also involve guides or ancestors. Can be remote. Recording provided.

Ongoing divination and spiritual coaching

Kontomblé divination. May also involved guides or ancestors. Can be remote and recorded without a live session. Recording provided.

General traditional healing

Kontomblé healing using general spirit tools. Must be in person. May also involve divination.

Entity traditional healing

Kontomblé healing using a specific ritual process. Must be in person at Sauvie Island. Preparation required. Generally during warm months. May also involve divination.

Aisha's gifts with divination have transformed many parts of my life. It's been a year since our initial session, and doors have opened that support healing and growth. I maintain a daily spiritual practice, have found a supportive community, participated in a community ceremony specifically given to me by the Kontomble and Wedeme and I feel deeply anchored to the earth. I am stepping into my own gifts and have been guided, just like Aisha told me I would be.

Aisha has helped me embark on a path that was always meant for me but was lost in the chaos of modern life. Sometimes, they will leave a gift in return, like a dried rabbit femur bone, a large marble, or feathers.
